My Lucky Wallet.10.7.10

I've had this wallet for over a year now. It's very roomy, it was really inexpensive, and it has held up really well. It looks almost the same as when I first got it. But, the most remarkable thing about it is that it seems to refuse to be stolen. No matter how careless or forgetful I am, I miraculously get it returned to me.

I am not a lucky person and never have been. I don't win contests, don't catch lucky breaks and don't expect to either. But now, in this one particular instance, I have been incredibly lucky.

The first time this wallet proved to be lucky was at the beginning of this year. I left in a shopping cart in the parking lot of Walmart. As soon as I realized where I had left it I KNEW there was no hope of getting it back. I called them anyway (JUST TO MAKE SURE), and low and behold they had it! It had all the cash still in it, all my credit cards, gift cards and a check in it also. I was so amazed that something so extremely lucky could happen to ME. 

So, back to the here and now, I misplaced my wallet last Saturday when shopping at Fresh and Easy. I'm not sure where at in the store I left it,  but I know that was the last place i had it. I went in and asked them if they had found it and they said they hadn't. They told me they would check the cameras though, and call me after looking at them. I had made up my mind that I wasn't going to get it back since I had already had my fair share of good luck with my wallet. I canceled my debit card and had accepted my wallet was gone. Meanwhile Devin and I were hanging out with friends and had forgotten we were supposed to get a call back(that was at 1pm). We got home around 9 and I remembered we hadn't gotten a call back from them checking the cameras. We then found a note on the door from the Avondale police saying that someone had turned in my wallet to them. 

When I got it back from the police, they told me it was turned in "anonymously" and didn't give me a name of who turned it in. I think that someone who worked at Fresh and Easy stole it and when they saw it on the cameras, the person who saw the camera helped the thief out and told them to turn it into the police. I NEVER got a call back from them, and when i called them back the next day they acted really shady over the phone. I guess I still can't really complain since I DID get the wallet back, but I don't think I'll do very much more shopping there. 

Anyways, whether you call it luck, karma, serendipity, a fluke or a blessing, I won't be buying a new wallet anytime soon. I'll stick with my lucky wallet for now. :)

HELLO

I just read my sister AMY 's blog and realized how much time has passed ONCE AGAIN, since I've participated in the blogger world. I used to go to craft meetups, do crafty projects, I had started a style blog, and I used to live in the real world where everyone else exists. The past few months or more like 3 or 4 months have been quite a blur. Looking back now I cant really remember very many things of importance that happened. I sorta just lived each day, one day at a time and stopped talking to and worrying about everyone around me. I'm not proud to admit that. But, i was just really stressed out and tired and only had enough energy to get through the day, i guess. About 2 months ago Devin tore his pec muscle completely off his bone and had to have surgery. Shortly after that he was fired from his new job. He's recovered pretty well and is able to start working again, but now the problem is trying to find a new job. With life starting to get back to normal a little now, I'm gonna try and extend more energy towards creative things, and keeping in touch with people I care about more.

Its the beginning of October, and this is my first october in my house. I really want to celebrate the holiday season to the fullest this year and make lots of fun creative things. I will post more later and share all of the ideas I have for Autumn/Halloween. I'm super excited about november and December also. This is the most fun time of the year to make things in. There are so many cute, awesome ideas of things to make.

I"m also involved in and helping out with my wards super saturday which is coming up in a couple of weeks. I'll post pictures of that after the event.

WHAT.I.WORE.SUMMER.YARDSALE.

It is officially summer in Arizona(has been for a couple weeks). I've started dressing a little lighter lately to avoid melting in the scorching heat. Each summer I experience here, I ask my self what exactly I am thinking living somewhere that's so ridiculously HOT. It's seriously probably hotter here than it is in Hell. I have some 24 hour deodorant that usually works REALLY well and last all day long. I'm afraid that the people who made this product wasn't intending for it to be used during an Arizona summer. It only lasts about 15 minutes of being outside before it wears off. 

I have been accumulating some stuff that I have wanted to sell at a garage sale for a couple months, but by the time I got around to actually having it, it was too late and too hot outside to have it. I guess that will have to wait at least 3 months or so. Speaking of garage sales, I got some really cute clothes from a garage sale down the street from me this weekend. I got all of it for only 25 bucks! I love garage sales and this was the best loot I've found as of yet at a garage sale. I've been trying to behave lately and not spend money on shopping for awhile, so it was amazing to be able to get so many new items to add to my wardrobe at such an amazing price!!!! The color is a little distorted in the pictures, becuase of the lighting I took the pictures in. The color isn't quite the same in real life as in the pictures.

Most of the items I got were 3 dollars each, and two of them were only a dollar! The shoes were one of the items that were only a dollar. I had been wanting to get some yellow flats but wasn't willing to shell out very much money for them. It was a lucky find to find them and for them to be my size too!

PILATES

I probably posted about this already in the past, but I"m going to do it again anyways. About a year and a half or so ago, I was in really good shape, and did Pilates 3 times a week on a regular basis. Its been about a year now since I've worked out AT ALL, EVER. 

A week ago, FINALLY got off my lazy butt and pulled out this DVD and started working out again.

 I use to use the Winsor Pilates DVD which is a longer workout and is also a great dvd. I got this one to try something different. On this DVD there are about 10 workouts under 15 minutes, and 10 over 15 minutes. There are workouts for each area of your body, and workouts that use weight, a pilates ring, a weighted ball, and a big stability ball. 


The workout I usually do and have chosen to do the past week is the 13 minutes mat workout. Its the basic quick pilates workout that works your whole body without any props. It works for me because I dont have/want to spend very much time working out. I can also choose from the other workouts on the dvd if I have more time to spend. It's also so nice to be able to do it in a couple minutes and in the comfort of my own home .The dvd only cost me 6 bucks back when I bought it, and i checked amazon and it's still about that price right now. Im excited that I finally found the motivation to work out again, and hope I can keep it up.

Dear caffeine a.k.a. Dr. Pepper, Diet Coke, And Diet Dr. Pepper,

I LOVE/HATE you.

I went about 2 years or so without drinking you. I was completely fine and very rarely craved you at all! I'm now very very very much addicted to you. You really help me to wake up when I'm really sleepy and you taste pretty good too. 

 You're making me gain weight. I can't fit in some of my pants now.  And, you're probably gonna start rotting my already crappy teeth. But, I can't seem to have a casual relationship with you either.It's either we're SERIOUS, or have NOTHING to do with each other. I can't buy all new clothes, and I REFUSE to gain enough more weight to move up ANOTHER pants size. I'll just look SILLY!!

I need to try and break it off with you. I'm still trying to gather the courage and determination to do it though.

05.08.10.WHAT.I.MADE

I haven't done anything crafty in a while, so I decided to finally finish the wood letter I was working on when I went to Utah a couple months ago. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I wasn't sure with how the paper would go with the other colors I had already picked out. Here are the two wood letters I made. I finished the "W" in Utah, and worked on the "K" today.
