4.30.10.CASSIES.MINI.MAKEOVER

Cassie came over a couple weeks ago for a sisters weekend and I gave her a mini makeover.

We spent Saturday in Mesa first doing some shopping. I helped her pick out some cute clothes and find all the good deals. It was lots of fun hanging out with her and shopping since we haven't done that in a while. Even though there's an almost 10 year age difference between us, we still get along really well.

I decided after a days worth of shopping that I wanted the fun to continue, so I drove her to Avondale to spend the night and then go to church with me the next day.

For the mini-makeover, I helped her pick out a cute outfit, did her makeup, and straightened her hair. It was really fun doing a makeover on her even though it wasn't an extreme makeover. Here are some pictures I took of the results:

4.30.10.MY.NEW.HAIR.DRYER

My hair dryer died.

It lived a long, good life and was a pretty good hair dryer, but it ran its course.
I hate having to replace hair dryers, straightening irons, etc., because you kinda forget that they don't last forever and its usually unexpected and something you weren't planning to spend money on.

But, my hair is REALLY, REALLY thick(even after having it thinned out by my hairdresser), so i can't last very long without one. There were MANY to choose from (since its been awhile since i bought one) and it was hard to choose which one to get. I wanted one that would be quiet, help reduce frizz, and dry my hair fast. I wanted one that was nicer than just your basic bottom of the line blow dryer. But, I didn't want to shell out a ton of money either.

I finally ended up choosing one which I bought at ULTA (love that store). I was second guessing my decision on which one I chose when the employee who rung me up told me that she loves the one I chose and recommends it to people all the time(yes!).

So, I took it home and tried it out, and it truly is a great blow dryer. It dries my hair in half the time, it's a lot less frizzy afterward, and its pretty quiet. I'm sure if you buy one for 80 bucks or more that it would be even more great. I only paid $40 bucks for mine though!

So, if you're looking for a new blow dryer, or if yours also takes a dive suddenly, this is a great one to get:

4.27.10.MY.DOGS

I barely pick up the camera anymore lately but when I do it's usually to take pictures of my dogs. Here's some that I've taken recently. A lot are of our recently new dog Cooper. We adopted him at the end of January to sorta replace our dog Harvey that got hit by a car. He's been a great dog and is relatively calm. He still loves to play though and loves going to the dog park. Max and Riley get along with him really well. Here's a slide show of our boys:

4.27.10.WHAT.IM.READING

Here goes the first blog post on my new blog. I decided to start my own blog separate from the one I share with Devin and post most of my blog post on here. I'll still post a couple on the old blog if it has to do with Devin also.

Here's what I'm currently reading:
I love reading and always have. I stopped reading for a while because I didn't have very much time to read and I got frustrated with reading a page here and a page there. I finally decided to just read anyway. I'm a super slow reader and have to re-read the page over and over(which is SUPER annoying), but I REALLY enjoy it anyway and it's a great way to de-stress and calm my brain.

This book "PRETTIES" is the second of the series by Scott Westerfeld. The first in the series is called "UGLIES". I was originally drawn to the series by the cover pictures and the names of the books. I also was interested because I saw it on some online lists of books that were most popular. The book isnt what I expected it to be but I'm really enjoying it. I have had even less time than usual to read lately so its taking me FOREVER to finish it, but I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series after I finish this one.
